God Save The Queen
This virtual race is a celebration of Her Majesty The Queen and supports one of the favorite charities of the British royal family. Participants in our God Save The Queen virtual run will receive a gorgeous 4″ St. Edwards Crown medal adorned with sparkling synthetic gemstones and white fur. You can run, walk, step, swim, or bike whenever and wherever you want to support a charity dedicated to clearing landmines and saving lives in countries recovering after conflict. In the words of Queen Elizabeth II herself, “It’s worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.”
About the Charity
The HALO Trust helps countries recover after conflict. Clearing landmines, to save lives, is at the heart of what they do. They work with communities that are too often forgotten once the fighting has ended, a point reinforced by Princess Diana after her visit to Angola in 1997. But the nature of conflict has evolved, so too has the dangerous debris left behind when the fighting is over. As well as clearing landmines, they deal with unexploded ordnance, from bullets to aircraft bombs, and they educate communities to keep them safe. They also build safe arms stores and systems for securing guns.
A portion of the proceeds from this virtual race (at least $5 from each registration) will be donated to the HALO Trust. For more information or to make a direct contribution, please visit HaloTrust.org.
