America's Run for the Fallen
America’s Run for the Fallen is concluded but the mission carries forward!
On Flag Day, June 14, 2008, a dedicated team of runners participated in the first Run for the Fallen and ran 4100 miles across America from Fort Irwin, CA to Arlington National Cemetery, one mile for every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, and Marine killed since the War on Terror began. In 2018 on its tenth anniversary Honor and Remember expanded the initial run by creating America’s Run for the Fallen, the most comprehensive fallen veteran tribute to date. April 7th – August 5th, covering 6,000 miles over 120 days through 19 states and calling out loud the names of over 20,000 service members.
Each year since the first run across America, runners from around the world have joined Run for the Fallen in remembering our fallen. Over 50,000+ participants and over 200,000+ miles have been collectively run in remembrance of those heroes, organized in over 26 states. But there is much more to be developed. We need your help to achieve comprehensive remembrance in all 50 states.
Even though the run across the country has concluded, you can support this cause now by participating virtually. Simply register here and then run or walk 1 mile, 5k, 10k, or a Half Marathon whenever and wherever you want. As a thank you for your support, we will mail you an official America’s Run for the Fallen race shirt and finisher medal. Shirts and medals will be mailed when you register (not after you submit your results), in case you’d like to wear the shirt for your run to help spread awareness for this amazing tribute that will take place in 2018.
